Unclogging Sinks and Plumbing Issues

Whether the bathroom, the kitchen or the toilets, cleaning your pipes will avoid corks, bad odors, stagnant waters and heavy and paying interventions of a professional. Here are some simple actions, to be carried out regularly to avoid water evacuation problems.

Industrial maintenance products

This is certainly the simplest method but not the most economical, nor the most environmentally friendly. There is a whole battery of chemicals (maintenance after draining, special piping kitchen, stop odor …) with promises more or less doubtful and labels scary that are incomprehensible. Moreover, not all of them are adapted to skeptical pits.

You can also find a biological range without acid and soda for a slightly higher price.

Which solution ? Make your own products, like a recipe, with natural and natural ingredients like black soap, bicarbonate, vinegar, soda crystals that cost only a few euros and are versatile.

Old Plumbing Tip

Fortunately, natural products have the wind in their sails. Thanks to the magic and allied substances of your everyday life, baking soda and white vinegar, you will transform the harmful chemical substances of the standard pipeline discharges into biodegradable enzymes that are safe for the environment and for your health.

Recipe # 1

Mix a measure of baking soda, a measure of coarse salt and 2 measures of white vinegar (which will produce a foam and this is normal)
Pour it into your siphon
Leave on for a quarter of an hour
Pour 1 liter of boiling water
Caution : This mixture should only be used if you have not yet poured in an industrial vacuum cleaner , as this could damage your pipes.

Recipe # 2

Mix 1/3 of white vinegar, 1/3 of soda and 1/3 of salt
As before, leave to act and pour boiling water
The advantage of “homemade recipes” is that you can use the ingredients for all sorts of other operations: detach sinks, clean a burned saucepan, shine silver jewelry …

High pressure cleaner

If your pipes are not blocked yet, do not wait until they are blocked! In the sink the residue of the meals and in the sink the remnants of toothpaste, hair and soap can accumulate and reduce the evacuation of water.

To prevent this kind of inconvenience, the use of a high-pressure cleaner will avoid the use of chemicals harmful to the environment and your health. Equipped with a ferret (long metal rod end with small brushes) and a nozzle, your action will be all the more effective.

Good plan : if you do not have a high pressure cleaner and you do not want to invest in this type of appliance, it is possible to rent it by the day for about 50 dollars.

If you have tried all these things and still can’t get the results you want then you can always call a professional like Augusta Plumbers if you are in that area.  If you aren’t then just go to a directory for your particular city.

How to install a sink

You must first choose the sink you want. If you are replacing an old one it must be of the same size, so that it does not have to be rectified on the counter top. If the counter is new you will have easier, because you can adapt the hole to the sink that is more to your liking. The right thing to do is to mount the drain valve, fastening clips, sealant and the faucet with its hoses in the sink before installing it on the hob. Work will be safer and easier.  If you don’t want to DIY then you can always call your local plumbers or whatever company operates out of your city.

pro plumbing

1. Turn on the valve and faucet
Step 1. Prepare the sink valve, depending on the type of drain you have, usually related to the diameter of the sink. Dismantle each part with a screwdriver.

Step 2. Place the valve itself under the sink and, through the breast part, the gasket and the valve mouth. With a hand screwdriver, tighten the valve so that it is firmly fixed and centered inside the drain hole.

Step 3. Now place the overflow, according to the model chosen and adapted to the type of sink. One part goes into the drain valve and the other, with a sealing gasket, into the grate where the water will overflow if the drain is filled.

Step 4. Do not forget to screw the overflow tightly around the inside of the breast with a screwdriver.

Step 5. Now place the corresponding staples into the metal profile prepared for it at the bottom of the sink. Places recommended by the manufacturer, depending on the size of the sink. Usually the staples come under pressure.

Step 6. Next you must put the tape or putty that can be included with the sink or buy it independently. Alternatively a silicone cord can be applied.

Step 7. Now prepare the faucet. Insert the two hoses into their corresponding holes, one for the hot water outlet and one for the cold water outlet.

Step 8. You must also insert one or two rods or threaded tightening rods, depending on the model of the tap.

Step 9. Now insert the rubber gasket and its associated tightening plate into the stem or stem of the faucet.

Step 10. Hand-tighten the screw or tightening screws that will end up holding the faucet tightly to the sink surface.

There you have it!  If you followed these correctly then you’re a pro at plumbing!

Garbage Disposal Problems

garbage disposalWell, before you start solving any problem, I want you to promise me that you will obey the cardinal rule of “Repairing a Garbage Disposer”. That is, you will never
put your hand in the hopper (down the drain at disposal)
That said, let’s take a look at the repair of this vital piece of kitchen equipment.

PROBLEM:
The crusher does not turn on (no noise)
If the crusher does not turn on and is not humming, then there is an electrical problem.

This may seem obvious, but make sure the garbage disposal is plugged in.
If connected, press the Reset button on the bottom of the unit. If it has been reset, the button will jump.
If that does not work, check if the circuit breaker has been tripped and turned off at the electrical service panel.
If the switch has not tripped and the reset button is not popped out, then it is a faulty switch or a defective trash crusher. First locate the switch that powers the disposal unit. It should be located on the wall, but may be under the sink.
Turn off the switch on the service panel that feeds the shredder.
Replace switch.
Turn it back on at the service panel and check if the crusher is working.
If the crusher does not work and makes no noise, the trash crusher is beyond repair and needs to be replaced.

If you simply buy the best garbage disposal for the money then a lot of these problems can be avoided!

Plastic surgery

Plastic surgery is defined as surgery of the skin and soft tissues, non-visceral. But what is the difference with cosmetic surgery ?
In fact, plastic surgery encompasses cosmetic surgery and restorative surgery. Aesthetic surgery brings a transformation from “normal” to “beautiful” while repair surgery repairs a defect (congenital malformation, bite, breast reconstruction following a mastectomy etc.)

The plastic surgeon

The plastic surgeon is a surgeon who is therefore qualified in both cosmetic surgery and repair surgery.
To choose your surgeon and be sure of his skills in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, you can contact the National Council of Physicians or the Council of the Order of your region.  A good one is necessary.

Be very careful, if you have surgery, to be aware of the risks associated with the procedure .

This type of surgery therefore includes a wide range of skills and operates in many operations with two different objectives.

How to use a circular saw properly

The circular saw is the ideal tool for cutting wood over long lengths. The circular saw is the solution for quickly and efficiently cutting panels in solid wood, plywood, melamine, chipboard … It is a powerful power tool, more than 800 watts, which means beginners must be careful.

The principle of cutting is simple, a disc is rotated in a counterclockwise direction. The cutting is done by sharp teeth arranged around the circular blade. Like many top rated table saws, it is made to cut wood in thicknesses varying from 5 to 50 mm. It can cut larger thicknesses provided the motor is strong enough and the blade allows it.

Unlike the jigsaw, the circular saw is not suitable for cutting metal, glass or tiles.

Step 1: Choose a circular saw blade.

circ sawThere are mainly two types of blades:

-HSS high-speed steel blades

-Tungsten carbide blades.

The HSS blades are rather dedicated to the cutting of solid wood. Instead, we recommend that you use a stronger tungsten carbide saw that can cut both solid wood and plywood or melamine panels.

The most important differentiating criteria for comparing cutting discs are the number of teeth and the fineness of the tips: the finer the teeth and the smaller the pitch (many teeth), the more precise your cut.

To make sure that the blade fits perfectly into your machine, check the instructions for the diameter of the tool shaft and the maximum diameter of the discs compatible with your circular saw. With this information you will be sure to choose a perfect blade.

Step 2: adjustment.

A circular saw offers two settings: height and angle of cut.

In order to obtain the most precise and cleanest possible cut, it is recommended to adjust the height so that the blade is greater than the thickness of the piece by 8 to 10 mm. A clamping screw on the rear of the tool allows you to make this adjustment. Place the blade at the edge of the cutting board to pick the right depth.

Step 3: General tips

You must always saw in good conditions to be able to get a clean cut

Always use a guide to ensure a straight cut. If the supplied guide is not large enough, use a clamp with guides. When carrying out measurements on the panel or workpiece, consider the thickness of the blade.

A circular saw must be well taken care of in order to limit the vibrations and possible deviations of the blade. Remember to never force the machine forward, you must allow it time to cut the material.

Keep the switch engaged until the end of the cut and until the protector returns to its place.
